About This Road

The road surface is this one's biggest weakness; it needs resurfacing badly. But the drive itself is a pure delight. It's very flowy, with great elevation changes, camber shifts, and a snake-like rhythm through the upper section. Watch for fallen rocks especially in winter. It's not really on the way to anywhere, so there's almost zero traffic.

We've done this a ton of times as the ASCC, and Matt, Kendall, and Kallen have all done solo trips on this one, too. It's one of our personal favorites that just makes you smile every time. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

For the true ASCC experience, if you're coming from I-5 stop at Caveman Cavey's Pizza in Fraizer Park. The pizza is okay, but it's a tradition whenever we're in the area to do Hudson Ranch Road (usually after Pine, Spunky, Bouquet and Little Tujunga Canyons).
